The “Mascacka Tram Way Ride” (Latvia)
Multimedia reporting produced in Latvia in 2013. It tells the story of a neighborhood in Riga, Latvia’s capital city, called Maskacka. It used to be a Jewish ghetto during the Second World War, but, nowadays, it is Riga’s Russian neighborhood and a symbol of the difficult coexistence between Latvians and Russians. The story follows tramway line number 7, which runs along Maskavas street.

Vesuvio, nel parco spunta la valle dei frigoriferi (Italy)
This reporting uncovered the presence of a huge amount of common and hazardous waste in the Vesuvio National Park. In some cases, we found old appliances and asbestos dumped a few meters away from the crops. Besides writing the article, my colleague and I produced a video and a photo gallery.

I wrote this article while working on the international desk of Corriere della Sera. It is about the consequences of decades of oil spills in the Niger Delta, in Nigeria, and the responsibilities of the Nigerian government and the Anglo-Dutch multinational Shell.

This article is about the strong presence of the Italian Mafia in Spain. In 2010, Italian and Spanish law enforcement agencies were trying to crack down on the Italian criminal networks operating in southern Spain.

Sometimes journalists can write good news. This is an example. That day, a Mafia clan in Ercolano (Naples) suffered a staggering defeat: The anti-racket association inaugurated its new headquarters, in a former mafia boss’ home.
Mala Comunicacion (Italy)
An investigation into the communication strategies of Naples’ criminal cartels. In 2009, it was one of the few investigations ever done into this issue. This is the original version in Italian.

I wrote this article for Latinoamerica e tutti i sud del mondo, a magazine focused on international news. It is about enormous lithium deposits in Bolivia, the growing importance of this mineral, and the economic and political implications of its exploitation.
