McDonald’s told Italians that burgers beat pizza. That didn’t go over so well
On April 27, 2014, I got my first byline with The Washington Post. It is a story about how Italians, especially Neapolitans, reacted to a McDonald’s commercial implying that Italian children prefer burgers and fries to pizza. On April 29, the story ran in the paper too, with a funnier headline: “A Pie in the Face for McDonald’s”
